Mini Olympics

The Mini Olympic Event has become a fixture on the GMS calendar, as it has entered its third year. This year’s competitors were led expertly by the Year 10 PE pupils. Their commitment and organisational skills resulted in an event that ran very smoothly indeed.

Seven pupils from the Thursday lunch time sports club were selected to compete: Chloe Clements, Louise Tillier, Leon Tyler-Tilbury, Matthew Hermitage, Nathan Rose, Char-Lyah Wade and Marcus Michels.

In total, six local schools were involved: Princes Risborough Cressex Bourne End Academy John Hampden Sir William Ramsey and St Michaels, so the competition was fierce.

Cressex were the winners of the shield this year, GMS were a close second: just two points behind them. It was another hugely successful event, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone lucky enough to be be present. The feeling is that GMS is sure to win in 2016.

At the closing ceremony, cheerleaders from the school performed a display: it was a fitting end to a great day.
