Welcome to the Great Marlow School and thank you for showing interest in our academy. Within the pages of this website, we promote the enthusiasm and commitment we possess to deliver a happy and high-quality learning environment.
Everything we do is underpinned by our core values of excellence, compassion and integrity, with the aim of creating opportunities for the entire school community. By working together, we want to inspire our students to be successful, caring and spirited contributors to a better society. As part of this, the My Personal Best programme has been introduced to identify and cultivate the following skills: Reflection, Resourcefulness, Readiness, Resilience, Responsibility and Respect.
We are really pleased with the result of the last Ofsted Inspection, which rated us “Good”, but at the same time we all strive to achieve even greater success. The inspectors recognised the supportive and stimulating nature of the school that is helping our students to achieve their potential in terms of educational results, personal development and confidence.
I am grateful for the support and commitment of my fellow Trustees, who devote so much of their free time to ensure that objectives are met and that any forward planning is inventive, inspiring and achievable. The Board takes a collaborative approach to ensure we put the safety, welfare and education of our pupils at the heart of everything we do.
Trustees are appointed to the Board in three ways:
Our Board of Trustees is a knowledgeable and experienced group that possesses extensive expertise in education, finance, human resources, technology and facilities management. This means that collectively we are well-placed to provide support to the headteacher and his leadership team, while challenging them to ensure accountability, compliance and strategic clarity.
As Chair, I endeavour to keep you up to date on the work of the Board of Trustees. However, if you wish to contact me directly to discuss any matters, I can be reached at ChairTrustee@gms.bucks.sch.uk.
Best regards,
Jean-Henri Beukes
