Wider Curriculum Events

GMS believes in widening the curriculum of all our students, which is why all departments are proactive in securing opportunities to go on trips.

In March the following exciting trips have been organised. We thank all the staff involved for their hard work and dedication.

• 1st March – the final Model United Nations event for Year 9s.
• Friday 1^st March – BU14 Regional Hockey Finals at Reading Hockey Club.
• Monday 4th – 8th March GMS’s Literary Festival.
• 8th March – Eco-Trip to Flowerland Garden Centre in Bourne End. The trip is an excellent opportunity for the gardening club students to expand their horticultural knowledge.
• 8th March BU13 County Hockey Tournament at Marlow Hockey Club:
• Thursday 7th March 2024 – Year 11 Bucks Skills Show at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. The full day trip aims to raise students’ awareness of skills valued in the workplace by providing opportunities with them to meet and network with a range of local, national and international industry employers who are keen to spot the talent of the future!
• Monday 11^th March Year 7 District Hockey Tournament
• Wednesday 20th March there is an evening theatre trip to Soho Place to see a theatre production of ‘Red Pitch’ for Year 9 students who enjoy drama and are considering taking it as a GCSE.
• Monday, March 25th Choir of the Year competition at the Grange School, Aylesbury. Doors will open at 6.30 pm, with the competition beginning at 7.00 pm. Everyone is welcome.
• Wednesday 27th March 2024 – Year 11 GCSE Geography Fieldwork Visit to Oxford.
• Thursday 28th March. History Department trip for Year 13 to the Holbein at the Tudor Court Exhibition at the Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace. The purpose of this trip is to give students the unique opportunity to visualise the court of Henry VIII and immerse themselves in a collection of remarkable works from royals to merchants.
• BU13 County Hockey Tournament on Friday 8^th March at Marlow Hockey Club
