Review of Matilda the Musical

The website thanks Noah for this personal review of Matilda the Musical.  “THE PREP

From the day I found out I had the part of Mr Wormwood in Matilda, I started practising my lines scene by scene, every night, until I was word-perfect.
When I learnt that the song ‘Telly’ had been added to our show I was so excited, as my uncle (Paul Kaye) had sung it when he played Mr Wormwood in the original production in Stratford upon Avon. I sang it every night before bedtime, along to the backing track.
BEST MOMENT
My best moment was singing ‘Telly’ and hearing all the laughter from the audience, which made me feel happy and proud.  However, really every second of the show was a ‘best moment’ in my mind as I had so much fun doing it with the rest of the cast.
WORKING WITH THE CAST
I made so many new friends in different years whilst working on the show.  We worked hard but also had lots of fun at the same time.  It’s amazing how many new friends you can make whilst taking part in a school drama production!
WHAT IT MEANT TO ME
Doing this show has made me realise how much I love drama and has made me want to pursue acting as a career in later life.  I feel really proud of what I have achieved as Mr Wormwood in Matilda and I am looking forward to our next show in the summer!
Thank you so much Mrs Chenery, Mr Ross, Mrs Sharp and Mrs Hyde for inspiring me to bring the best out of myself!”
