Bronze & Silver DofE Award

The Bronze and Silver DofE Award 2019/20 has now started at GMS. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is the world’s leading youth achievement award, and is currently helping 430,000 young people to develop for life and work in the UK. To achieve a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, our students will need to show persistence, commitment and personal development over a period of time. Every activity they choose must be successfully completed and assessed.

Completing a DofE programme equips young people for life and work, and is recognised by employers and universities alike. Through their DofE journeys, young people develop resilience, confidence and a ‘can do’ attitude, as well as the social and communication skills that businesses are calling out for.

Many young people find achieving a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award life changing; many discover their talents, broaden their life experiences and make lasting friendships along the way.

If you would like to receive more information about the award, or are interested in your son/ daughter participating this year, there is an Information Evening for parents on Monday October 14th 2019 in the school hall. Bronze award at 6pm, followed by Silver award at 6.30pm.

To register your son/daughter’s place on the award, a non-refundable deposit of £100 is due by Friday 25th October via Parentpay.
