Winners in Orienteering

Recently, Great Marlow Students took part in the annual Brunel University London orienteering competition.

Along with four other schools the students were required to use their map reading skills in order to find control points and match the letters on a card to the letters at those points. Once they had found the five different points they had to unscramble the anagram to find the correct word.

Special mention goes to Will Clayton and Theo Besnard, who managed to complete their first map with all five control points and the correct word in six minutes, although being allowed twenty.

Overall, the students performed exceptionally well; they really did show off their ability in reading and orientating a map, as well as working together as a team, which led to them winning the overall competition by some margin.
