Sports Day 2021

Sport’s Day Spectacular. The GMS annual sports day did not take place in July 2021, so it is happening in September. Many of the favourite track events feature for boys and girls: Year 7 will be completing a 600m; all other year groups will run an 800m; relays and medley relays are there among the mix. On Wednesday 22nd the Sports Day will end with the traditional 6th form Tug of War.

The schedule is as follows:

Thursday 16th September Years 10 and 11 – 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Friday 17th September Years 7, 8, and 9 – 12:45pm – 3:00pm

Wednesday 22nd September Years 12 and 13 combined – 2:00pm – 3:00pm

All year groups will have their peers to cheer them on.

This is the first Sports Day with the Houses of Kites, Eagles and Hawks, so the winning team will be the first to wear the crown of these Houses.

Points will be scored for placings 1-9, meaning there is much to compete for.

The PE Department is in ‘full swing’ organising the individual events. The Youth Sport Award Students, in Years 12 and 13, have been enrolled as the support network for all House members in KS3; they are tasked with ensuring the students are ready for their event/s.
