I would like to say thank you to all the staff, students, parents and carers of the school, as well as the wider community of Marlow for their support over the last few weeks of term. In very testing and tragic circumstances, the whole community has pulled together collectively to support both secondary schools in the town. The care, compassion and consideration of all has enabled both school communities to cope with the incredibly sad events. I would like to remind students that if they are feeling low or worried, then please talk to someone at school, or contact one of the many external agencies we have signposted. Parents/carers, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school to discuss, or go to one of the many external agencies for advice and support.
In addition, Great Marlow School (GMS) and Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School (SWBGS) have coordinated a series of ‘drop in’ sessions that can be accessed by students and/or parents and carers of both school communities over the Easter holidays.
The schools are being supported by the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and Bucks MIND, who are providing trained staff for ‘drop in’ sessions at the schools’ on the dates and times below:
These sessions are specifically for people who are struggling with recent events from both school communities and they can access any session at either school. If you are attending, please report to the main reception of the school.
For details of other external agencies that specialise in supporting children and adults during difficult times, please see click here.
Best wishes
