Year 10 Enterprise Day

On Friday 6th July, Year 10 business students took part in an extremely successful enterprise day raising a large sum of money for a local food bank charity.

Students were in teams of 4 or 5 and had a start-up loan of £10. The students were set a challenge to research and create a business venture with the £10, which would enable them to be profitable and raise money for the One Can Trust. All students made the department and school proud by running many fantastic business ventures. Queues were out the door for the sandwich shop, where the students were selling a range of toasted sandwiches. Another particular success story was the candy floss stall, which had queues several students deep.

Other exciting ventures included a ‘Mario Kart’ competition, car washing (with many staff having their cars cleaned by students), as well as fairground games, ice creams and several raffles.

The money has been counted and students have raised £430 for the charity, with some money still to be collected. We are particularly proud that this money can support people within our local community: that it will have a positive impact on the lives of local people.
