Fantastic Achievement: Sporting Challenge 2024

Report on the Sporting Challenge 2024, written by Mr Ford, Executive Headteacher.

Our second annual Sporting Challenge has been a huge success with fantastic support from our school community.  The students have competed with great enthusiasm and enjoyment over the past two days in the Inter Form/House Indoor Rowing Competition.  The results of the competition we will share during the course of next week.

Roger Berry successfully completed the immense challenge of cycling for 20 hours 24 minutes, covering an incredible distance of 450 kilometres in the time.  We are incredibly grateful to Roger for his time, energy and support for the fundraising.

During this time many parents, carers, staff and community members came to the RSC fitness suite to exercise in support of the challenge and to encourage Roger, including Professor Greg Whyte OBE who knows a thing or two about incredible sporting challenges. Thank you to all of you.

There is a form competition: the form in each year group that raises the most sponsorship money will visit the Everyman Cinema in Marlow to watch the George Clooney produced movie, ‘The Boys in the Boat’, said to be the best rowing film ever made, which also ‘stars’ some Great Marlow School students.
