Year 7 Swimming Scheme

This year’s cohort of students involved in our swimming scheme at GMS have completed their six months of weekly lessons. All Year 7s involved in the scheme have progressed from non, or weak swimmers, to confident and positive students: all have improved in both skill and ability in the water.

The students also learnt survival and life-saving skills. Throughout the scheme, they developed their proficiency and knowledge and all students involved have shown tremendous perseverance and courage.

The scheme started in September of 2015 to give all non-swimmers in Year 7 at GMS the opportunity to learn this essential life skill. The 2017 – 2018 session  is now completed. The next scheme begins in September 2018.

Helen Murray is the co-ordinator of this scheme and has had remarkable success in enthusing the students. GMS thanks her for her hard work and dedication.
