On the 9th March, a hockey tournament at Beaconsfield High School took place. Year 8 and Year 9 girls played five games in total, all against grammar schools. Needless to say, the GMS team played very well indeed.
Captains Helen Windsor and Juliette Dudley led the team with a great warm up session, and followed it with constructive support as the day continued, as great captains do.
Everyone in defence was fantastic in clearing the ball from the D and making shots on the goal very difficult for the opposing team.
Three of the five games ended at 0-0. Well done, defenders !
Issi Hansen, Molly Griffiths, Georgie Webb and Flo Braybrooke were fabulous at attacking the D: GMS were so close to scoring.
Everybody played their very best hockey. All involved are proud of the results: only two games of five were lost, and then only by one goal.
The team continues to improve: they are becoming better and better.
