Successful Women’s Football Promotion Day

The Women’s Football Promotion Day was a success, according to all those involved. Alex Scott and Emma Mitchell, from Arsenal ladies football club, made an impression on the GMS pupils they came in contact with.

Despite the awful weather at lunch time, some pupils and their coaches braved the rain and performed on the superb outside facilities GMS now has, supervised by the experts.

In addition, GMS had an inflatable target practice unit set up so that a wider range of pupils could be involved. The prizes were an incentive for the ‘Keepy Uppy’ competition, ‘Beat the Goalie Penalty Shoot Out’ and ‘Reaction Wall’. For this, the uptake was fantastic with many pupils from all year groups coming to the sports hall to participate and win the prizes that included bags, teddies, as well as footballs.
