Musicians’ Reviews: Summer Fest

On Friday 8 July, students from the Music Department thrived upon the opportunity to perform at the first Great Marlow School Summer Fest. Reporting on their experience are Paul (drums) and Lyra (saxophone).

“I loved Summer Fest because I performed to people whom I didn’t know very well. I also played accompanied my friends, which I found great. There were breaks in between performances, which meant we could rehearse in practice rooms or even just take a break! This was one of my favourite experiences of the year.” – Paul H, Year 7

“I had an excellent experience at the festival held at GMS on Friday; it was a nice opportunity to socialise and to be involved in many different things. The festival was a good occasion for my family to visit GMS for the first time since I started at the school. I thoroughly enjoyed performing and listening to the music and hope to perform again soon!” – Lyra W, Year 8
