Summer Fest, A Triumph

GMS Summer Fest was an absolute triumph.

This year, for the first time, Great Marlow School held an event aimed at bringing together the whole school community and celebrating the life and culture at Great Marlow. Organised by staff and FoGMS, the students played a huge role in showcasing their work with stalls and performances in a festival style event that ran through the sunny afternoon and into the evening.

Pony rides, food stalls, local artisan vendors, ice cream and glitter all added to the fabulous afternoon of fun and celebration. The weather blessed us as we all enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere while listening to outstanding music performances and watching the amazing dance summer showcase. Student-led stalls invited the crowds to try their luck at numerical games, race to get the baby ready, beat the buzzer, all were accompanied with prizes to be won.

Beautiful displays from the school’s Art Department were admired by all, alongside the astounding cake competition entries! The hard work of our students really shone and they enjoyed talking to our visitors about their school projects from biomes to badges.

FoGMS were a huge part of the event, their bottle tombola was an absolute smash, with people needing boxes to carry home their winnings; the silent auction along with the bar and ticket sales has collectively raised well over £3000 for the school with cash still being counted!
