GMS, as a FA Strategic Lead for the promotion and provision of women’s football, set about promoting women’s football in an innovative way by holding a GMS Girls’ Football Day. It was a huge success thanks to the organisation, support and cooperation of all staff and students.
An amazing 700 female students, aged 5-16, played football on Friday 8th March 2024.
- The local primary schools had a football festival on the Astro-turf, ably run by our Sixth Form Sports Leaders.
- Ks3 girls all played in the House Football competition, there were three tiers to this, Gold, Silver and Bronze: it was brilliant to see full participation and some outstanding fixtures.
