Medallists-Finals: Judo British Schools’ Competition

Four GMS students competed in the British Schools National Finals last weekend. GMS congratulates them on participating and being so successful.

• Caitlyn Urie won Silver. She had an awesome day with four strong wins against Y12 & 13 girls, losing only the Gold and Silver fight to a national medalist who is now training full-time judo: a massive personal achievement.
• Josh Urie won Bronze. He was the lowest grade belt in his category, so had to fight boys four grades higher than him to earn this Bronze: a massive achievement.
• Frankie Weaver-Poole won Bronze in his category, only losing one fight to the candidate who became the Gold medallist.
• Ralph Weaver Poole competed and earned some valuable mat experience from competing in such a high profile competition.

These amazing results places GMS 9th on the British Schools league table: one of the top ten in the country.
