Wider Curriculum Trips

GMS believes in widening the curriculum of all our students, which is why all departments are proactive in securing opportunities to go on trips. This January the following exciting trips have been organised for this term. We thank all the staff involved for their hard work and dedication.

  • Monday 22nd January, students are going to the second, of three, Model United Nations events. The third trip is on Friday 1st March 2024. The first of these events was held in December 2023.
  • Year 10 trip to The Tate and Borough Market on Thursday 25th January. 
  • Sixth Form visit to Sam Wannamaker Theatre, The Globe, London to see Othello on Saturday 27th January 2024.
  • Year 9 “Futures Day” at Buckinghamshire New University. The aim of this outing is to encourage students to think about all available routes to a wide range of careers, including new pathways they may not be aware of. Thursday 25th January, Hawks; Friday 27th January, Eagles; Wednesday 8th February, Kites
  • Poetry Live Event in Oxford on 29th February 2024 for GCSE English Literature students. 
  • Bucks Skills Show 2024 Thursday 7th March 2024 at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Aylesbury. The aim of the trip is to raise students’ awareness of skills valued in the workplace by providing opportunities with them to meet and network with a range of local, national and international industry employers who are keen to spot the talent of the future!
  • Eco-trip to Flowerland Garden Centre in Bourne End on 8th March. The trip is an excellent opportunity for the gardening club students to expand their horticultural knowledge.
  • Wednesday 20th March there is a theatre trip to Soho Place to see a theatre production of ‘Red Pitch’ for Year 9 students who enjoy drama and are considering taking it as a GCSE. 
  • Year 11 GCSE Geography Fieldwork Visit to Oxford on Wednesday 27th March 2024.
