This week is National Jeans for Genes week.
Today, Thursday 19th GMS are supporting this important charity.
It is estimated that 1 in 25 Children in the UK are affected by a genetic condition. Jeans for Genes is an organisation that offers the opportunity for one donation to be shared with many well deserving charities.
GMS is doing all it can to help: during this week, students have learnt about genetic disorders, the impact they have on young people and their families.
Assemblies, tutor time activities and in science lessons, students have been informed and educated.
How can our wider GMS community help?
• Donate at least £1 WisePay , of course a higher amount would be appreciated.
Open until Friday 20th September
Many students are taking part in the Scavenger Hunt: wearing one accessory to school on Thursday 19th September: all are on the hunt to find those wearing the items shown.
Students who manage to hunt each item down will submit their entry to the prize draw (Shopping voucher, Chocolate/Sweets and Achievement Points)
Other activities: bake sales and quizzes.
GMS has always supported this important charity event and this we are aiming to raise more than before. For the charities they supported see this link. https://www.jeansforgenes.org/funding-in-action/2023-jeans-for-genes-grant-charities
