Great Marlow School is lucky to be located close to the River Thames, however, open water can be dangerous. Sadly, many people die because they have not realised the risks posed by open water, especially in high temperatures.
GMS wishes to alert parents, carers and young people to the potential dangers of rivers and lakes, especially as we move towards the summer, which is forecast to be sunny and hot. In school, we have raised awareness in form time and we would appreciate parents and carers reinforcing the message at home.
Water Safety Advice from Royal Life Saving Society can be found by following the link to Drowning Prevention Week. This campaign has been running for over ten years and educates families, parents, carers and teachers about water safety and the hazards.
We wish everyone to stay safe.
