Yr9 Options’Evening:28/3

Year 9 GCSE Options’ Evening is on Tuesday 28th February from 6 pm – 7:45 pm.

The Options process has given GMS students much information about the Options’ process and the subjects on offer for study in KS4. The recent Bucks New University  ‘Futures Day’ trip enabled students to make connections between GCSE studies and possible careers. As a result of all the preparation, it is our belief that students are well prepared for choosing their KS4 subjects.
The Year 9 GCSE Options’ Evening is an opportunity for parents and carers to attend a presentation in the school hall, which will explain the GCSE Options’ process in detail. There is also an opportunity for both students and parents/carers to meet with subject leaders. It is important that teachers, parents/carers and students work together to ensure that the Options’ choices are the best fit academically and in regard to interests and future plans.

In order to accommodate the numbers expected, we have made the following arrangements:

6 pm Presentation in the Hall to parents and students of 9E1, E2, E3, H1 and H2.
6 pm Visiting Subject Areas the parents, carers and students of 9H3, K1, K2 and K3.
6.45 pm Presentation in the Hall to parents and students of 9H3, K1, K2 and K3.
6.45 pm Visiting Subject Areas the parents, carers and students of 9E1, E2, E3, H1 and H2.

Please be aware there will be very limited parking onsite, moreover, we ask parents and carers to be considerate of our local community when parking, this includes the Britannia Pub.
The GCSE Options’ Evening will be followed by the virtual Year 9 Parent/Carer Evening on Thursday 23rd March. This will give the chance to meet with subject teachers to discuss the progress and the next steps.
The Year 9 Options’ online form will go live at 7 pm on Thursday 2nd March and close on Monday 27th March.
