The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe: Library
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis is a favourite read; each generation connects to its characters, the plotline and its themes in different ways, making it one of those endearing and enduring stories. The librarians have created a highly visual Christmas tableau showing the tea party to which Lucy was invited by Mr Tumnus.
The scene is a montage of Narnia, many items herald back to former times like the old-fashioned kettle, the long black umbrella with a curved handle, the silver sugar bowl and spoon, the salt-baked dough in the shape of sardines, and the tiered cake stand all of which are set off by the beautiful lacy tablecloth.
Our library, since the revamp, has a huge new lease of life: this crafted montage is just one of the ongoing events the library has staged, which makes it a central hub of the school.
