GMS Welcomes TVP

GMS welcomed Thames Valley Police into school with drugs detection dogs.

Neil Maguire, Deputy Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead, commented: “This was an operation to not only reassure our community, but also to show that we work very closely with outside agencies when trying to promote the wellbeing of our students. During the morning, the team visited a total of 27 different classes in different blocks from all year groups (7 – 13). During social times the dogs worked in social areas and open spaces.

In total approximately 900 students had the opportunity to meet Toby the Labrador”.
PCSO Chris Bis from Marlow NHPT, commented: “It is always pleasing to work with GMS who are a particularly proactive community partner for us. The drugs search dog operation was a huge success. Whilst Toby was working sniffing around, PC Danny O’Driscoll and myself took the opportunity to discuss with students the hugely negative impact that drugs can have on their lives and careers”
