Bags2School: 1/11

From 8.00 to 9.00 am, on Tuesday 1st November 2022, FoGMS will be at the main Bobmore entrance gates and the front doors of Redgrave Centre ready for the Bag2School collection.

FoGMS is asking for help from all members in our community to donate and ‘Bag-Up’ items that are no longer required.
Please tie the bags up, to ensure there is no loss in transportation;  also, please ensure all the items are dry.

Every item earns money for the school, so FoGMS, and our whole school are extremely grateful for the gifts. FoGMS are paid 40p per kilo, so the heavier the bags of donations, the better!

Bag2school re-uses all the items donated: they only accept the following ‘good quality’ items
• Men’s, ladies’ and children’s clothing
• Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around)
• Handbags
• Belts
• Accessories
PLEASE NOTE: THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING
uniforms, workwear, pillows, duvets, bed linen, curtains, towels, soft toys or pieces of fabric.

The clothes collected from school are baled into big ‘botany bales’ and loaded onto trucks for export. Once they arrive at the factory, they are sorted into 150 different types of clothing depending on the end market. The clothing is then distributed around the globe to where is it most needed! This could be a purpose-built 2nd hand store in Eastern Europe or South America, or a market stall in East or West Africa, providing valuable employment for importers, warehouse staff, transport companies and stall holders as well as affordable clothes for local people.
