Dates for Diary FoGMS

FoGMS, chaired by Jane Trainer, has recently sent out a welcome message with a list of the exciting events they have planned for the autumn term of 2022. GMS appreciates all the dedicated, supportive parents and carers who make up the FoGMS team because they are remarkable in what they do and the success they have. The students of GMS benefit hugely from the money they raise.

Despite Covid, in the last three years, they have supplied the students of Great Marlow with the following: a new projector for the drama department; a substantial donation of £7,500 for the new garden room, reflection and learning space; sweatshirts for Sports Leaders, with a logo on each of them; all-inclusive outdoor seating for the students to sit, eat and relax in; six outdoor table tennis tables; drinking fountain in the canteen area – with chilled water access for all the children; ongoing leases for the two mini-buses; PE cycling initiative, which has proved incredibly popular a total of £3,250 was given.

Please look out for the upcoming events and fundraising initiatives in the autumn term of 2022:

•  Year 7 Disco on 13th October from 7-9pm, when all the new Year 7s can celebrate their move up to secondary school together
• Curry & Karaoke evening on Saturday 15th October (Tiger Garden will be providing the food) the amazing 3-minute Rockstar Band will be the entertainment.
• Bag2School Collection on 1st November (more details about bag2school will follow nearer the time)
• Year 8 Disco on 3rd November from 7-9pm: this was so successful in 2021 that the FoGMS committee has decided to run it again for the Year 8s.
• Brush Party on Saturday 19th November at 7 pm in the school, £32 a ticket, no experience required, a fun evening with friends painting a beautiful picture you keep.
• 300 Club – £20 annual subscription with 2 winning numbers selected each month for a chance to win £150 1st prize or £50 2nd prize. If you had numbers last year and want to keep last year’s numbers then please email fogms300@gmail.com ASAP and if you want numbers then email us too!

  Already, FoGMS has held its AGM and the New Parents’ Coffee Morning and both were a success. GMS thanks everyone involved.
