Softcat Supports Environmentally Friendly Projects

Eight schools in Marlow were very grateful recipients of the Softcat employees for the day on Friday (24th June); the Softcat employees spent the day in the schools working on projects to benefit the school environment and the wider ecological environment.

The day was the idea of James Pritchard, Softcat’s Head of Supply Chain and Operations Support, who worked with Kevin Ford, Headteacher at Great Marlow School, to organise the logistics.

James said, ‘I wanted to reach out into the local school community to aid any initiatives they had. Softcat and its employees were eager to support and add resources that would help to bring the initiative of each school  to life. The day was a fantastic; it was very rewarding to see project work completed and how it has helped schools, staff and students. We’re looking forward to running more initiatives in the future and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Kevin for his help in making arrangements for today.’

The eight schools involved were Burford, Foxes Piece, Frieth, Great Marlow (GMS), Holy Trinity, Little Marlow,  Marlow CofE Infants, and St Peters.  The projects ranged from preparing an area to re-establish a pond and wildlife area; weeding and planting flower beds; repairing fences and outdoor furniture; and building animal and insect sanctuaries!

Kevin Ford, Headteacher at GMS said, “We are all incredibly grateful for the support of James and the Softcat team, who have had made a massive difference to each of the school’s projects, the staff and students are incredibly pleased with the work done.  I really hope this can become an annual event.”
