FOGMS are delighted to bring you the first of their Parent Partnership Talks planned for this school year with the renowned writer and activist NATASHA DEVON MBE.

Awarded an MBE for her expertise in mental health issues and how to help young people, Natasha is a specialist in this field.

Her Parent Partnership talk is called, Communication and Mental Health; it will be held in GMS on Wednesday 1st December 2021 at 7 pm.

Doors and refreshment bar open at 6:30 pm: the talk begins at 7 pm.

Natasha Devon’s talk, Communication and Mental Health, includes the following topics:
– Why is it so difficult to discuss mental health issues honestly and without confusion.
– What adults can do to establish the needs of students and colleagues struggling with their mental health.
– Tips aimed at encouraging a person who is struggling to open up about their mental health.
– Understanding where a parent/carer role begins and ends: it is not your job to ‘fix’ it for them.
– Where to seek further information and support.
