GMS is passionate about instilling a love of reading, so on Wednesday 6th of October, all students and staff at Great Marlow School will ‘Drop Everything and Read’ at 11.30 am for 20 minutes. This is a new whole school initiative, which will take place once a half term.
Reading takes place in form time, in lesson time and at home. The ‘Drop Everything and Read’ initiative is another layer to encourage the love of reading during the school day.
The school expects all students to have a current reading book in their bag every day for school, however, teachers would be grateful if parents and carers could ensure their child has a book in their bag on Wednesday 6th October. If your child has just finished a book, or for some other reason does not have a current book, please remind them to make use of our fully stocked library before 11.30 am on Wednesday.
