Wood4Trees Project

Year 8 is VERY excited to be participating in a wonderful community project that aims to plant 1,000,000 trees!
GMS have been chosen to be part of the very first steps for this fantastic project and it is at no cost (aside from watering the plants).

The saplings have now been ordered and are ready for potting – they just need a loving home until Autumn 2022!

Potting sessions will be arranged for your child during school time next week and will include:

1. a brief introduction to wood4trees and what they want to achieve
2. a short demonstration of the potting method
3. collection of their tree and care instructions
4. dipping of the roots
5. potting up
6. tagging their tree
7. tree team photos (these may be displayed alongside articles in the local paper)

Collection of the tree saplings is happening at the end of the school day and may need to be carried a short distance: parental support may be required.
