Accelerated Reader Year 7/8

I hope everyone is settling into some sort of routine in this strange situation we find ourselves in. Finding time to read should be counted as a pleasure and not too onerous. However, I do appreciate that for some it will just be another chore to add to the list. Please don’t apply too much pressure to read, it has to be a fine balance of encouragement and cajoling.

The following instructions will take you to the Accelerated Reader scheme which the school follows for Year 7/8. All students in these year groups have a log on to this scheme.

• The site can be found on https://ukhosted17.renlearn.co.uk/1893181
• User name and password are the same as if a student were logging on at school.
• First letter of your first name, capitals.
• First four letters of your second name, capitals.
• Then the password is ABC
• Remember if you have a common name such as Smith, your login will be e.g. ASMIT1 or perhaps 2.

Books on the scheme can be found on AR Bookfinder (normal google search will get you to the right site). Enter the name of a book and if it is recognised it is in the scheme and you can quiz on it.

Added to this Renaissance Learning who run the Accelerated Reader scheme have made myOn available to all for free. This will give you access to thousands of books to read, not necessarily to quiz on. Please see this link: MyOn Set up
