Young Enterprise

As part of the Young Enterprise Company Project, teams from across the district set up and run their own limited companies. Once set up, the teams compete for prizes by taking on a number of challenges including a Dragon’s Den style business pitch; a best trade stand; a selling event; along with a business presentation.

The first challenge for the team was to write a professional business plan. Our team, at Great Marlow School, are called ‘Marlow Pots and Plants Ltd’ and their business is making flower pots and accessories from recycled materials. The detailed business plan, outlined their aims for the year; the structure of their organisation; and financial projections for the year.

This was submitted to the judges, alongside business plans from other schools in the local area.

After a few day’s wait, the results were in, and to the team’s amazement, they won first prize! Not only did the team have the satisfaction of having the best business plan in the district, they also won £50 cash for their business!

Next on the agenda for the team is the Marlow Late Night Shopping event on 5th December. Please come along and support the students.
