Science Club KS3

Amelia Jones, Sixth Form Reporter, writes about Science Club.
At Great Marlow School we offer a wide range of extra curricular activities. A particular favourite of students lower down the school is Science Club run by Miss Westie.
The club offers a fabulous opportunity to enjoy science in a different way than students can in lessons with experiments such as homemade lava lamps, elephant’s toothpaste demo and making bath bombs. Exciting experiments like these encourage students to plan experiments, make observations and then proceed to carry out the theory in practicals.
The club is open to all Year 7, 8 & 9 students. Currently, there are 15 Year 7 students and five Year 8 students attending.
One  student said, “I enjoyed making lava lamps and mentos, and coke was great because there was a lot of suspense, also it keeps me busy”
Another student said, “I had a chance to meet new people and it’s nice to do science and a take a break from homework but still be learning.”
From this feedback it is clear to see how enjoyable the experience is and the Science Department would be more than happy to welcome new members to the club on Mondays: it runs from  3pm -3.45pm.
It’s worth being a part of this unique experience, so roll up KS3 students.
