Ben Pease Runs for Motor Neuron Disease

Amelia Jones, Sixth Form Reporter, interviewed Ben Pease, on his charity run.
On the 19th October 2019 Ben Pease, a sixth form student, completed a 10 mile run for the Motor Neuron Disease, International Charity. The charity raises awareness, provides support and informs people globally about the disease. A specific quality of the charity is their many fundraising events, which keeps the condition in the forefront of people’s minds.
The recent event Ben took part in led to him raising an amazing £709.05: an outstanding figure. When asked about his success he explained that he was running for his uncle, who had been a, “massive runner taking part in many events” before he was ill and, sadly, died last September with the disease. Ben explained that he did it for all those who were suffering, which is a  very admirable and kind thing to do, I think you’d agree.
Ben said that, “The run was definitely hard, but I was helped by the amount of support that I had from everyone. People were so supportive and the atmosphere was incredible.”
Charitable events such as these must not go unnoticed, so congratulations to Ben and his extremely dedicated  team for all their hard work in raising awareness for a cause that must be heard.
Ben looks forward to another event in June, when he will run a half marathon; he hopes to continue to raise awareness by completing many runs in the future.
