Progress Report Guides

The Progress Report Guides are invaluable. For KS3 a chart shows the following:

• Working At Standard (WAS) – used by the school to track progress.
• Attitude To Learning (ATL) – gives an indication of a student’s work ethic: excellent, good, inconsistent or poor.
• Areas For Development (AFD) – gives parents and carers an indication of where their child has to focus their attention to make progress.

The progress grades for the GCSE examination cohort, Year 10 and Year 11, have:

• GCSE grade. There is a conversion table giving the previous A* to G grades a comparable 9 to 1 grading.
• Attitude To Learning (ATL) – gives an indication of a student’s work ethic: excellent, good, inconsistent or poor.
• Areas For Development (AFD) – gives parents and carers an indication of where their child has to focus their attention to make progress.

In addition, the Childcare Course is judged in a different way: Distinction, Merit and Pass, this is also noted on the document.
