Young Scientist of the Year Award Evening

Buckinghamshire’s Young Scientist of the Year Awards Evening was held on Monday 12th November. Three talented GMS students attended the evening ceremony, held in Bucks New University, and were presented with a certificate to recognise their achievements in science. Needless-to-say, the students, their teachers and the school are delighted.

The A-Level students were nominated by the school for their hard work, commitment and achievement in science, their names were forwarded for consideration for Young Scientist of the Year, which is an organisation that honours some of the UK’s most outstanding Year 13 science students.

During the course of the award evening students watched inspirational presentations given by prominent scientists from the Faraday Institute and networked in an informal reception given afterwards.

The original idea for the awards was conceived to celebrate the talent of exceptional students who are studying A-level Science in the county’s schools.

GMS congratulates the following students.

Freddie Lewis for Biology

Isabel Doyle for Chemistry

James Ma for Physics.

GMS also wish to thank the staff who supported the students in their endeavour to ‘reach high’ in the science discipline they have chosen to study.
