Berlin Trip: October 2018

An exciting Berlin trip took place this October half term, from Friday 19th to Monday 22nd October, for the Year 11s, Year 12s and Year 13s.

Berlin is an historic, creatively diverse, exciting city to visit with excellent galleries, museums and other visitor attractions. The visit aims to enrich GMS students by exposure to both the artistic and historical content of the city.

Mrs Sillwood, and her team, were not disappointed with the trip, which inspired and educated the students in a way that can only be achieved outside the classroom: most particularly because horizons will be broadened and cultural understanding developed. For all the art and design students, the trip offered excellent opportunities for collecting vital artistic information and inspirational material for their Personal Independent Projects at A-level or the Externally Set task at GCSE.

The students flew to Berlin and visited a number of galleries, museums and memorials, as well as going on tours of the city.

GMS are delighted and very grateful to Mrs Sillwood and her Art Department team for researching into this opportunity and finding a way to offer such an amazing experience to the students.
