Sponsored Rowathon: 18th Oct

On Thursday, 18th October, the rowing fraternity in GMS are holding their annual sponsored row, on the indoor rowing machines, to raise much needed money for equipment for the School Boat Club.  Year 7 and 8 students will all be taking part during the school day, while rowers from other Key Stages will take part before and after school. The aim is “row” over one million metres collectively.

All students in Year 7 and 8 should come to school in PE kit and will remain in PE kit throughout the school day. The Rowathon is a very lively, fun-filled event, with plenty of noise generated by the competitive edge of the challenge.  An added incentive for the students is the reward given to the form who raise the most money: an afternoon at Longridge dragon boat racing: a treat to enjoy while their peers are in lessons in the heat of the summer term.
