GMS has supported a local charity, based in High Wycombe, called One Can Trust, for a number of years now. They operate a food bank service to the people of south Bucks, who find themselves going hungry.
At the present time the charity is at full stretch, as they are supporting an increasing number of families including lots of children, so we are asking our very generous school community to donate on Thursday 19th October.
To try and cover the range of items that the charity requires to support families we are asking year groups to try and donate specific items. Please see the list below:
Year 7 → Dry food and canned food
Year 8 → Toiletries and baby products, such as soap or toothpaste
Year 9 → Canned food/fruit, sauces and snacks
Year 10 → Cereal, Carbs: Grains, Pasta, Rice etc
Year 11 → Cereal, Carbs: Grains, Pasta, Rice etc
6th Form → Long life products and puddings
If you are not able to donate in line with the suggestions above any items are always gratefully received.
The collection point for the donations is the picnic tables outside the school’s main reception.
GMS appreciates the generous nature of our parents, carers, students, staff and governors, so thank everyone for their continued generosity for the charitable causes they support.
