MFL Paris Trip

Miss F Tuddenham and her team are delighted to announce that an educational visit to Paris is to take place from Thursday 18th October until Sunday 21st October 2018. The visit is open to current GCSE French students (current Year 10) and students who will be starting the GCSE French course in September 2018 (current Year 9). The accommodation booked is an education centre, located near Paris. The centre will provide full board accommodation.

The visit has two main aims: firstly, it’s important to immerse students in the French culture as much as possible so that their language learning at Great Marlow School has a more realistic context. Secondly, there is a need to increase students’ confidence with their speaking and writing because these are two aspects of a language GCSE that students traditionally find most challenging.

The cost of the visit is £440 per paying student. An initial non-refundable deposit of £120 is required by Monday 4th June 2018.

The cost of the tour includes the travel by coach and ferry, the accommodation, insurance, language lessons and all entrance costs to sites visited. A meeting with parents and carers will take place later in the year, to confirm all the final arrangements. At the very least, students will have to have a valid passport and an up-to-date European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which can be obtained free of charge on the NHS website.
