An Oxford Experience

Recently, over the Easter break, Zainab Lakda experienced being at Somerville College in Oxford.

She was enrolled on a residential course, aimed at inspiring girls to follow a science pathway. While there she met many other students from a huge variety of schools from across the country. Expert scientists were invited in to give a flavour of their speciality. It opened wide the huge field that science is.

Oxford’s history gives it an unique atmosphere. It was not possible to investigate it all, but Zainab did visit the Museum of Natural History.

Zinab has reported that she had a fantastic time; she now has memories of an inspiring trip, and new ideas of where a career in science can take you.
