On Friday 4th November some of GMS’s Year 8 geography students had the opportunity to talk to an Environment Agency worker.
Year 8 have been working on the topic of flooding and how it is managed. The purpose of the visit was to show how the topic of flooding has a real world application. Students were introduced to the importance and relevance of the work the environmental agency does to mitigate the problem of flooding.
Barry Russell, MBE, introduced the audience to the vital work he does. A quiz followed and the chance for students to ask questions.
This was a thoroughly informative event, enjoyed by students and staff alike.
