Congratulations to A-level Students

Congratulations to our A-level students on an outstanding set of results.

Celebrations have been in full flow at Great Marlow School today as students received their A-level results. There were scenes of joy as 100% of students passed their A2 examinations: an impressive 46% of students achieved grades A*– B and 75% achieved grades A*– C.

Results were exceptional across the board. Almost 20% of all entries resulted in the top A*/A grades. Gabija Baltramaityte, achieved an A* in Law and two grades at A in Media Studies and Psychology, James Kent achieved an A* in Mathematics, an A grade in Chemistry and a B grade in Physics. Scarlett Roberts achieved an A* in Ancient History and two grades at A in Drama and Law, as well as a B grade in English Literature. Peter Nelson achieved 3 grades at A in Law, Media and Psychology, Ellie Lennard achieved an A* in Art, an A in Textiles and a C grade in English, Allessandra Barrow achieved two grades at A in Ancient History and Politics and a B grade in Geography. A particular mention must go to the following students who achieved an A* qualification in their Child Care and Education Diploma: Ifza Ali; Werdha Amjad; Kira Hutt; Emily Keating-Bell; Shaohlin Samuel-John and Ayeimma Shah.

Mrs Geralyn Wilson, Headteacher said, “This has been another great year with 100% of students achieving passes at A-level. The percentage of students achieving grades A*-B and A*-C was once again phenomenal. These results demonstrate that the school is continuously providing high quality education to students in Marlow and in the wider Marlow area and most importantly, that students feel challenged and supported to achieve their very best.”

These excellent results pay testament to the hard work of a terrific group of students and the dedication of their teachers and all staff at the school. We wish all our students every success as they progress to the next phase of their lives and thank them for their contribution to the cultural and social life of the school. The achievements of this cohort of students will inspire future generations.”

The Director of Sixth Form, Owen Hollyman, commented on the year group: “The students are fantastic both in their academic performance and their contribution to the life of the school and the community in Marlow. Year 13 students should be justifiably proud of all that they have achieved.

We are delighted that so many have been successful in attaining university places on some of the most competitive courses in the country including the top Russell Group universities, such as Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Exeter, Sheffield and Liverpool. Some of our students were able to overcome really challenging personal circumstances to achieve excellent results. This was due to the support and guidance given to them by the school, their families and to their diligence, so well done to them as well.

Finally, very best wishes to all students as they move on to university or prestigious apprenticeships or employment.”
