E-Safety Ambassadors Amelia Watts and Polly Coleman

Amelia Watts and Polly Coleman have received a Headteacher’s Award for being E-Safety Ambassadors at a recent event at St John’s Primary School.

Alison Watts, Project Officer for Learning, Skills and Prevention, in Bucks County Council, came to GMS to train a group of young people in how to become E-Safety Ambassadors for the school. The idea was to teach the all important aspects of E-Safety to Ambassadors who would go on to deliver the message to others.

As secondary schools are linked to primaries it came about that Amelia Watts and Polly Coleman, two of her Ambassadors, presented to the parents and carers of St John’s. Their online experiences and anecdotes turned out to be the highlight of the evening, because their first hand accounts gave parents and carers a true insight into potential pitfalls and problems associated with using the internet. The message, given by the girls, that parents and carers should talk to their children was accepted as invaluable advice.

At the same time the students highlighted the fantastic support given to students at Great Marlow School.

The girls were an absolute credit to themselves and the school, and GMS congratulate them on their success.
