Mr Kevin Ford Headteacher

Following Mrs Wilson’s decision to retire at the end of the summer term, the governors have appointed Mr Kevin Ford, as headteacher from 1st September 2016.

Mr Ford has been deputy headteacher at the school since September 2010.  He has taken a central role in shaping improvements that have made a significant impact on outcomes. He enjoys the absolute confidence of staff, students, parents, carers and the governing body, and as such he is extremely well placed to lead Great Marlow School. The school could not be in safer hands.

There was a strong and experienced field of candidates. The interview panels consisted of ten governors, three of whom are parents of students currently at the school, a staff panel and a student panel. The panels were also supported by the Professor of Education from the University of Brighton and a former headteacher.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Ford said, “I am honoured to have been appointed as the Headteacher of Great Marlow School and am looking forward to working closely with staff, pupils, governors, parents, carers and the community. I am very aware of the many areas of success and, in partnership with you all, I look forward to building on the excellent achievements of Mrs Wilson.

“My experience as deputy headteacher since 2010 has given me a thorough insight into the school and a clear, strong vision for securing each student’s success. I believe passionately in our ethos of ‘Creating Opportunities, Releasing Potential, Achieving Excellence’, and I look forward to building on the strong learning culture and high expectations already in place.”
