Royal Windsor Horse Show

It was with a great sense of excitement, and some trepidation, that the Great Marlow Show Jumping Team of Millie Simons, Hannah Brown, Mollie Coker -Harris and Lottie Hughes set off to represent the school at the NSEA show jumping competition at Royal Windsor Horse Show on 16th May 2015.

Royal Windsor, justifiably, has the reputation for being the most prestigious and, therefore, the most challenging competition on the school show jumping circuit. Qualifying in the ballot for a place to compete is an achievement in itself, so the GMS team were determined to make the very most of the opportunity, even though they were all mounted on young inexperienced horses and it would be by the far the most difficult course any of them had ever attempted!

The team manager reports that she was incredibly proud of them all: they were immaculately turned out, and represented the school with first-class sportsmanlike behaviour.

As it happened, the horses and riders coped admirably with the fanfare, pressure and pizazz. Clear rounds were few and far between in the competition as a whole, Millie Simons rode the round of her life to finish on just 4 faults. The other team members did a sterling job to ensure that the whole team completed the rounds.
