Rowers Win in Bath

Great Marlow School Boat Club (GMSBC) won convincingly in Bath last weekend. On Saturday 11th October some 50 rowers from GMSBC  went to Bath to compete in the Monkton Bluefriars Small Boats Head race. The GMS crews came first or second in every event entered.

Notable wining performances were from the following who won their races in style:

• Year 9 Coxed Four, namely, Emily Dix, Sophie Martin, Millie Watts, Mia Taylor and coxed by Siofra Bracken
• Year 10 Double Scull, namely, Jamie Jack Westfold and Josh Mackenzie.
• Year 11 Double, namely, Leanna Beswick and Amelia Bojarzin

The girls J15 Coxed Four also performed exceptionally well, racing in the J18 event: they finished second ahead of crews from Cheltenham College and Midfield School, to name just two strong competitors.
