Double Medals from Henley Royal Regatta.

Last week saw the climax to the British Rowing Season with the six day Henley Royal Regatta. With lock down and travel restrictions keeping international crews away for the last couple of years, the entries from oversees were enormous. US, Canada, Australia, China and New Zealand not to mention a host of European crews.

Two alumni from GMSBC won medals. Toby Lassen in the Temple Challenge cup and Blaise Ivers Dreux in the Prince Albert. Both rowers were competing for Oxford Brookes University against US universities in the finals. Toby’s Eight beat University of Washington on Sunday in the final; Blaise’s Four beat University of Berkeley, California.

This is a major accomplishment for both students and a first in recent times for GMSBC.
