Bikes: Appeal for Bikes

As part of their continued effort to provide a PE curriculum that best suits the needs of all students, the PE Department have taken the decision to include mountain-biking as part of the Year 9 and 10 PE core curriculum. Once underway (planned for January 2021), the activity will be developed further by offering an extra-curricular mountain-biking club as well.

The Department has managed to source some funding to help with the implementation of the project, however, it is proving to be quite an expensive activity to set up. An added difficulty is that there is currently a national shortage of brand-new bikes to purchase, due to the huge uptake of cycling during lock down.

The PE Department are appealing for help. Do you have a mountain bike that is surplus to requirements and could be donated to the school? Any bike in a serviceable condition would be gratefully received and hugely appreciated.

If you do have a bike that you would like to donate to the project, please contact Mr Goodright, via email, sgoodright@gms.buck.sch.uk, so I can arrange to collect it, should you be unable to bring it to school at a mutually convenient time.
