This Maths Challenge Question, from a past paper, gives a flavour of what 113 Year 7 and Year 8 Junior Maths Challenge students will face when they open the competition paper, on Thursday 26th April, 2018.

The Maths Challenge is the UK’s biggest national maths competition, and every year thousands of students enter. As the example shows, the questions are brain teasers that require candidates to think in ways that conventional examinations do not.

GMS thanks Mr Day for organising the entries and all the candidates are wished the best of luck.
