Paul Wyborn: Ambassador for Duke of Edinburgh

After impressing the expedition leaders, on both his practice and assessed Silver expeditions, Paul Wyborn in 11L has been selected to represent the school as a Duke of Edinburgh Ambassador.

Duke of Edinburgh Ambassadors are the first point of contact for participants in a school. Ambassadors feed back to staff on the running of Duke of Edinburgh in their centre, help manage, improve and grow the organisation, sit on a youth panel with other ambassadors and are a voice for the young people undertaking Duke of Edinburgh at GMS.

Last October, Paul attended an Ambassador’s Training Day in Windsor to learn leadership and presentation skills, eDofE training and to meet the other ambassadors with whom he will be liaising in the region.

After his yearly term of office is up, Paul will mentor the incoming ambassador and new intake of Duke of Edinburgh participants.

Also, he may be offered the chance to attend the Duke of Edinburgh Leaders’ Development Programme to work with regional staff, and gain further qualifications and training as a leader, young speaker and expedition supervisor.

This is a great opportunity for Paul; it will make his UCAS application and CV stand out from the crowd: congratulations.

Paul is an ideal choice for this role and we know he will be a fantastic role model within the school.
